Devoner was born in Caracas, Venezuela on may 29th of 1984.

Drawing from a very young age, Devoner doesn't remember a time without a pencil on his hand. At the age of fifteen he got initiated on street art, Caracas walls granted him the opportunity to step out of his comfort zone and developed himself as an artist.

In 2006 he graduated from the IDC (Design  Institute of Caracas) as an illustration and animation artist and in 2011 he started teaching illustration at the same school. Later on he pursued his animation career working mostly with motion graphics until 2008 when he moved to Barcelona.

Around the time that Devoner was living in Barcelona, he was confronted with the economical crisis and began to take an interest in the world of tattoos and the opportunities that this could represent during those complicated times. He began his journey in the tattoo domain as an autodidact and worked his way to the top. Devoner is today a tattoo artist with worldwide recognition and more than 90k followers, who admired the uniqueness of his work.

He currently lives in Malaga, Spain, enjoying his life as a fulltime committed artist.

Inspired by the work of Jackson Pollock, Devoner uses the concept of  ‘’Fractal Expressionism,” and applies it to his previously created pieces in order to imitate the essence of natural scenery on a digital canvas.

In mathematics, a fractal is a subset of Euclidean space with a fractal dimension that strictly exceeds its topological dimension. Fractals often exhibit similar patterns at increasingly smaller scales, a property called self-similarity, also known as expanding symmetry or unfolding symmetry.

These Fractals images are different from geometric figures because of the way they scale : by doubling the edge lengths of a polygon and multiplying its area by four.

The mathematical notion of fractals can be found in the intrinsicate shapes of Frost crystal, the absurd forms of the Romanesco broccoli and even in our own blood vessels. These kaleidoscopical shapes are the main inspiration of the artist.

For the Devoner, the importance of adopting nature's pattern generation processes, is essential to the development of his pieces. For him the resulting pieces mimic nature’s pattern, and reproduce it in the dataverse.
